Writer, academic and performer Paul Dwyer retraces three journeys made by his father, Dr Allan Dwyer, a world - renowned orthopaedic surgeon, who visited Bougainville during the 1960's, healing dozens of crippled children. Family stories become entwined with the larger narrative of Australia's colonial enterprise in the years following: the opening of the giant Panguna copper mine, environmental devastation and Bougainville resistance, a war that cost the lives of up to 20,000 people. This is politics and performance at its most personal.

THE MONEY STUFF COMPETITON: In its tenth year, the Money Stuff Challenge asks your students to research consumer issues using the Money Stuff website www.moneystuff.net.au and to develop a message for young people using fun and creative publicity.
As well as improving your students’ money management skills and understanding of consumer rights, participating in this competition will also help them meet some of the learning outcomes of the Commerce syllabus.
PRIZES: By entering the Money Stuff Challenge, students are in the running to be part of a cash prize pool of up to $16,000. Students can win $200 for themselves and $2,000 for your school.
There are 4 categories: Years 7-9 Metropolitan Years 10-12 Metropolitan Years 7-9 Regional Years 10-12 Regional
All categories include a highly commended prize which is $1,000 for the school and $50 for each student. Every student who enters will receive a participation certificate.
Teachers An additional prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the teacher(s) who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to helping their students understand consumer issues.
