Congratulations to Julie Wheeler from Narrabeen Sports High School who was nominated as 'Teacher of the Term' by Ivy Packham who teaches at Normanhurst Boys High School
Julie has been a casual teacher for 15 years (6 of these years as a Careers Adviser.) Julie has always worked in a most capable, diligent and innovative manner, taking care of students educational and future career needs while hoping to gain a fulltime position. Julie worked at Freshwater Senior Campus, job sharing for 4 years, until 2007. She was highly respected by all the students and staff. In 2008, Julie worked at Narrabeen Sports High replacing the Careers Adviser. Being a real professional and trouper, Julie also assisted the school by taking on an additional 8 periods of Art Classes until 2009 when she was became ill and could no longer work. Following a month in hospital followed by six months of treatment. Julie has returned to school cheerful, positive, thoughtful and always happy for others. During this time she missed out on applying for a Careers Adviser position on the peninsula. She is now in remission back working at Narrabeen High – still working tirelessly to benefit her students.

I would like to nominate Michael Dempsey for the 'Teacher of the Term' competition. Mick works really, really hard. He is currently active HT of CAPA which has TWO first year out teachers and he is more dedicated and hardworking than anyone I know. Last term we put on a school production called 'MADD Fest'. Mick came to school at 4 or 5am everyday just to get stuff done. He's always running around helping someone or setting something up. He is beyond helpful and more than deserving of a weekend away.
